16 April | Sumi-e Japanese Ink Painting

During this workshop, you will learn Sumi-e: Japanese ink painting invented by Japanese Zen monks. Working with brush and ink, you’ll experience how doing less can say more, and how mindfulness is tied to your creativity. Our experienced artist instructor Marina Derijke will tell you everything about the traditional techniques and themes, from botanicals and landscapes to animals. Working with exciting materials and tools, your intuition and expressive creativity will be sparked.

After painting, there will be a moment of presence inviting you to slow down, observe and be fully present, forming the perfect conclusion of a serene day of learning and painting.

This workshop is for people who want to let go of thinking and start doing, who want to reconnect with a quieter, more spacious way of creating and being.

No experience needed, just curiosity, openness and a willingness to relax.
