During this dayretreat, you will learn Sumi-e: Japanese ink painting invented by Japanese Zen monks. Working with brush and ink, you’ll experience how doing less can say more, and how mindfulness is tied to your creativity. And how easy and natural it is to become more mindful and present once you start painting!
Our experienced artist instructor Marina Derijke tells you everything about the traditional techniques and themes, from botanicals and landscapes to animals and people. You will work with and explore exciting materials and tools (like Japanese brushes, stamps and ink) and creativity will be instantly sparked!
You will also share a complete lunch prepared by the private chef of El Botánico, who cooks with organic and locally sourced ingredients and products. Many of the fruits, vegetables, and herbs come directly from El Botánico’s own garden and orchard! This shared lunch buffet is a time to connect and refuel with Mediterranean inspired dishes that nourish body and mind.
This dayretreat is for people who want to let go of thinking and start doing, who want to reconnect with a quieter, more spacious way of creating and being.
No experience needed, just curiosity, openness and a willingness to relax.
